Britain reported on the “factory of trolls” for disinformation about Ukraine
According to the British Foreign Office, Russia is actively using the “troll factory” to support the Kremlin and discredit supporters of the military operation in Ukraine
The British authorities accused Russia of using the “troll factory” to spread disinformation about events in Ukraine, as well as about the politicians of a number of countries. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the statement of the British Foreign Office.
According to the agency, in its opinion, the Foreign Ministry refers to a UK-funded expert study that has not been officially published.
The Foreign Ministry clarified that the Russian “troll factory” uses Telegram to recruit and coordinate new supporters, who then spam comments in support of the actions of Russia and President Vladimir Putin. In addition, they also target high-ranking ministers and other world leaders among the targets of their attacks, the study says.
“We cannot allow the Kremlin and its shady troll farms to invade our online spaces with their lies.” ,— British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said.
Russia has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine since February 24. President Vladimir Putin called its goals “demilitarization and denazification”; neighboring state, as well as protecting the population of Donbass from genocide.
