Russian volunteers from Chechnya have completely taken control of the entire line of contact in Severodonetsk of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). This was announced by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.

According to him, units of Russian law enforcement agencies from Chechnya and the second corps of the People's Militia of the LPR managed to clear the first quarters of a well-fortified city from Ukrainian forces.

“The building of the hotel, which was prepared for a long defense by Bandera, passed under the control of our fighters. Enemy firing points were equipped in almost every window, but thanks to well-coordinated joint actions, as well as the high professionalism of Russian commanders, the enemy was successfully driven out of the hotel, — Kadyrov said in his Telegram channel.

The head of Chechnya stressed that the allied forces managed to completely block Ukrainian fighters in Severodonetsk— all waste from the city is controlled by Russian forces. Kadyrov expressed confidence that the city would be cleared.

Earlier, on May 25, Kadyrov announced that the Russian military and LPR forces had entered Lisichansk— a city in the west of the republic, as well as “almost entered” to Severodonetsk, neighboring Lisichansk, which is located on the other side of the Seversky Donets River.

Lysichansk and Severodonetsk— the last large cities not controlled by the LPR within the Lugansk region of Ukraine. The Lisichanskugol coal mining enterprise operates on the territory of Lisichansk, and Severodonetsk Azot is located in Severodonetsk, which is the largest chemical enterprise in Ukraine.

Fighting near Severodonetsk began in March. Then the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the LNR troops were advancing on Ukrainian forces and that fighting was taking place in the east, northwest and northeast of the city.
